Earlier in June, the Woodland Trust hosted a drinks reception for 400 guests at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Seasoned Events oversaw the logistics of the evening and approached WL to provide the production support. With the company being asked to supply lighting to both the dome and garden areas, they drew on their extensive range of CORE Lighting equipment; for which they are the exclusive supplier.

Debbie Poulton, Head Honcho at Seasoned, comments: “The theme for the evening was ‘Without trees, it’s a different story’; something which is fundamental to the very essence of the Woodland Trust. The intention was to highlight how the woods and trees play an integral role in all aspects of our lives”.

To achieve this, Seasoned worked closely with the Woodland Trust. Debbie adds: “The Trust were keen to host supper in a summer forest. Therefore we had to create forage food stations for guests to mingle amongst, cider bars featuring barrels of locally sourced cider along with a central bar area. Each section required reliable production support; hence we approached WL”.

The event was spread across the V and A museum’s indoor and outdoor spaces. For the Dome and main entrance, WL supplied CORE Uplighters, whilst in the Hinzte Gallery, CORE Point30s were used to accentuate the various sculptures. WL also supplied 50 battery LED globes which floated in the garden ponds.

Phil Gladman, WL’s Project Manager, comments: “With this particular event, there was such a variety of different spaces that we needed to light and we knew the CORE products would be able to do this. Both the Uplighters and Point30s have the versatility to be used both indoors and outside, making them ideal for this particular evening”.

Alongside the lighting, WL also supplied a PA system in the garden area as well as the on-site crew.

Debbie adds: “It was another fantastic experience working with WL and we are really grateful for their support yet again. Having worked with them on numerous occasions already this year, we know we can rely on their knowledge and expertise whatever the occasion”.

The event marks another example of WL providing its support on a corporate event in a renowned museum space. It is also another example of the company drawing on CORE Lighting.

Phil adds: “What’s great about any CORE product is that you can use it on virtually any event. For instance, whilst we were using CORE at the Woodland Trust drinks reception, they were also being used on ITV Sport’s broadcast of the EUROS 2016. As a company, it is vital knowing you have equipment which is not only practicable and easy-to-set-up but produces the best results and fulfils the client’s brief; precisely what CORE Lighting manages to do for us week in, week out”.
